2014 Gorge Laser Performance Clinic
with Javier "Rulo" Borojovich

The Columbia Gorge Racing Association is proud to present the
7th annual Gorge Laser Performance Clinic with Olympic Laser coach Javier
"Rulo" Borojovich. This is
a terrific opportunity for experienced Laser sailors to take your game to the
next level. The clinic is open to sailors over 18*who have good boat handling
skills and are comfortable in winds up to 25 knots. Enrollment is limited to 25
to ensure personal attention to every participant. Full rigs and Radials are
both welcome.
Head Coach: Javier "Rulo" Borojovich
Javier "Rulo" Borojovich is one of the world’s most sought after coaches in the
Laser and Optimist classes. He is the co-founder of the
Laser
Training Center in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, where he has been Head
Coach since 2003. While in Cabarete, Rulo has coached a number of Olympic
competitors, including US gold medalist Anna Tunnicliffe, Andrew Campbell (USA),
Lisa Ross (CAN), Bernard Luttmer (CAN), Tania Calles (MEX), and Diego Romero
(ITA).
Previously, Rulo was sailing coach for national teams and yacht
clubs in Argentina, Peru, Italy, Spain, Dominican Republic, Canada, USA,
Thailand, and Malaysia for the Optimist, Laser and 470 classes. In his sailing
career, he was a member of the Argentinean national team from 1990-2000 in the
Optimist, Europe and 470 classes. He was South American Optimist Team Racing
Champion in 1991, South American Europe class youth champion in 1995, and South
American Youth 470 champion in 1998.
Rulo is the author and producer of several
popular videos, including Advanced Laser Boat Handling and The New Racing Rules.
In addition to being a world champion sailor and coach, Rulo is a physician
specializing in internal medicine and sport medicine.Program
The goal of the Gorge Laser
Performance Clinic is to provide each participant with a clear action plan for
improved performance in his or her Laser racing. Special emphasis will be placed
on downwind technique in big wind and waves, a condition for which the Gorge is
particularly suited! The program will combine onshore chalk talks and video
analysis with on-the-water drills and short races.

famous Laser Gorge Blowout,
a scenic and spectacular 18-mile run from Cascade Locks to Hood River. The
following weekend, July 11-13, CGRA will host the
2014 Laser
Masters North American
Championship, making it a full week of top-level training and competition for
Laser sailors (separate registration and fees).

Clinic Fee: $475 for
registrations completed with payment on or before June 15, 2014. Registration includes
coaching, lunch each day, after-sailing snacks & beverages, and Sunday

heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, 40 minutes east of Portland
International Airport on Interstate 84. Cascade Locks and surrounding
