The Columbia Gorge Racing Association is pleased to have been selected to host the 2009 CST Composites International Moth Class World and US National Championships. This regatta, one of the premiere events in the world of competitive sailing, is expected to attract top level sailors from around the world to test their skills in the famous winds of the Columbia River Gorge. The regatta will be held in the waters off Cascade Locks Marine Park beginning August 6 and continuing through August 15, 2009.

The Moth Worlds, held annually since 1933, will be returning to North America for the first time since 1976. Cascade Locks follows such venues as Weymouth, England (2008), Lake Garda, Italy (2007) and Melbourne, Australia (2006) on the list of world-class sailing sites selected to host this prestigious championship.

CGRA invites the Northwest sailing community to join us in welcoming the competitors, their families, coaches, and members of the media, most of whom will be experiencing the Gorge for the first time this coming August. We hope you will support us in our efforts to showcase what we believe is one of the finest sailing venues in the world, the Columbia River Gorge.

Boat Transport

Boat transport to and from Portland International Airport to the regatta site at Cascade Locks is available to all Moth Worlds competitors. For information and pricing, please contact West Coast Sailing.

Visitor Information

Cascade Locks is located in the heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, 45 minutes east of Portland International Airport on Interstate 84. Cascade Locks and surrounding communities have a wide range of accommodations from camping to four-star resort hotels (see visitor information).
