About CGRA

Local sailors founded the CGRA in 1996, eager to introduce the one-design sailing world to the famous winds of the Gorge. Today, CGRA enjoys a reputation for excellence in regatta management and continues to host a growing number of premiere one-design regattas, national and world championships. Over the last 13 years, we have hosted more than 50 major competitions including:

  • International Moth Class World Championships

  • Tasar World Championships

  • Nike World Master Games

  • 505 North American Championships

  • 49er North American Championships

  • Laser Masters North American Championships

  • Snipe National Championships

  • Finn National Championships

  • International 14 National Championships

  • US Collegiate National Championships

  • J-24 Western Regional Championships

In addition to regattas the CGRA is facilitating an ever increasing number of racing clinics and training camps led by champion sailors from around the world.

Another important part of our mission is the CGRA Community Sailing Program which provides the Gorge Community with public access to sailing and sailing lessons for children

Support CGRA

As participation grows for sailing in the Columbia River Gorge, the CGRA is expanding its efforts to support the overwhelming interest.  Thanks to individual and corporate generosity, we hope to add equipment, staff, volunteers, and other resources. Click Here if you are interested in volunteering or contributing.

The Gorge Sailing Center

CGRA is actively pursuing the establishment of a permanent sailing facility in  Cascade Locks. In cooperation with the Port of cascade Locks and other state and local officials we are seeking to build a facility large enough to handle larger regattas and the growing number of sailors in the area.
