Help us raise a new barn!CGRA board members and volunteers are already hard at work designing a new clubhouse to replace the one we lost in the Nov. 22 storm. Nothing fancy; all we need is a simple shelter to store the equipment and serve as headquarters for coaches and race officials. Our goal is to have the new club up and running in time for the season opener next April. We could sure use your help! Any contribution, large or small, is very much appreciated and will earn your name a spot on our honor roll of "CGRA Barn Raisers" to be proudly displayed in the new clubhouse. CGRA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, so all your donations are fully tax deductible. For more information or to find out how else you can help, please contact Bill Symes. Thanks!

Wild Night in Cascade Locks!
NOV. 22, 2009. 60+ MPH winds raked Cascade Locks last night, knocking down trees and knocking out power throughout the town. The storm also knocked out CGRA headquarters, lifting our humble but beloved "race hut" right up off the floor and depositing it 30 feet away in the parking lot. One unlucky I-14 got tossed clear across the boatyard, trailer and all, and took down the fence on landing. Fortunately, all the sailing school's Optis, Bics, and Lasers had been removed from the lot to indoor storage a couple of weeks ago. In fact, aside from the loss of the clubhouse and the damage to the fence, all CGRA assets are safe and sound. For this, we owe a huge thank you to Scott Sullenger who was first on the scene this morning and quickly mobilized his family and neighbors to salvage all the equipment and supplies from the demolished race hut, moving everything out of the driving rain into a nearby warehouse. Without Scott's quick action, CGRA's losses would have been much more severe. Thanks Scott! And thanks also to Andy Mack, Jarvis Brecker, Dave and Kay Patterson, and LauraLee Symes for helping out with the clean-up operation. Needless to say, our quest for a new clubhouse just got a lot more urgent! If you'd like to help, we've set up a PayPal account to accept donations (see left). Anything you can contribute will be much appreciated, and we hope you'll join us next season to check out our new, improved clubhouse and enjoy the best sailboat racing on the planet!
